Basing our approach on the specific use, we have been working for many years on the conceptional possibilities of space and the many different variations of its use that are ultimately never hard-coded. Non-visual, ambiguous, unpretentiously everyday aspects play a key role in our design activities, with work on form taking second place. Although the economic and functional factors as well as the clarity of the programme of usage are brought to the fore, the sensory experience of space and structure as a backdrop for daily activity that is open to interpretation and development remains a central aspect of our design work. The process-based design strategy is driven by the conviction that well-conceived, usable architectural concepts reduced to the essential permit a realisation that is appropriate in terms of both content and commercial factors. With an open mind for the complexity of a socio-cultural approach to architectural and urban planning tasks, conceptional considerations remain to the fore. As part of our goal of combining relevant architectural solutions with innovative technical concepts, we also see the design as an interdisciplinary task that unites experts from different disciplines with the aim of achieving maximum sustainability and cost efficiency.
Our projects prove their efficiency in day-to-day use and enjoy national and international attention among experts. Most of our realised projects were awarded important international architectural prizes and exhibited in Austria, the USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Argentina, Spain, Slovenia, Poland and Japan.
Our architecture is not one of “built images”. It creates structures, open and precise in equal measure: a framework for the complex flow of images of use.
