Prešeren Prizes for Students at the University of Ljubljana

By awarding Prešeren Prizes to students for their best work, the University of Ljubljana promotes the quality of scientific, research and artistic activity of students up to the completion of the second Bologna degree or a single Master's degree. The selection process is managed by the Prešeren Student Prize Committee, which awards up to 12 prizes each year.

Awards are given for student work submitted in the prescribed form that significantly exceeds regular course requirements and was completed between September 1 of the previous academic year and August 31 of the current academic year. Students submit the work with which they intend to compete for the award to a member of the University by September 10 of each year.

The rector presents the prizes at a ceremony held each year on František Prešeren's birthday and on the occasion of University Week. The winner receives a certificate with Prešeren's effigy and a cash prize.
