The concept enables diverse use of the public spaces of the boulevard, formulating a distinctive locale with a special identity with only minimal intervention into the physiognomy of the city. A system of green spaces along the embankment strip defines a new landscape space into which spatial objects are integrated that, while being visible in the city’s historic silhouette, are not integrated in terms of urban space. The revitalisation of the promenade along the banks, the development of consistent architectural elements for the overall area, and the two-lane cycleway round off the overall appearance. Open areas of grass, fields and squares create a new place for a variety of leisure activities, for recreation and socialising. The suggested range of local vegetation is characteristic of the riverside landscape. Changing colour through the seasons, it ensures a new vibrant quality of the space between the embankment and the body of the city.Recurrent elements such as stair objects, ramps and multi-purpose buildings structure and intensify the link between the street and the promenade along the embankment. At the same time, these elements serve as points for viewing the Vistula river and the city and can also be used for various temporary functions as required.
